The MGF Women Development Sector & Advisory Council is one of several committees within MGF.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
a. To develop women and girls socially and economically through seminars and workshops.
b. To provide empowerment through donations, grants, scholarship and skills acquisition etc.
c. To inculcate spirit of industry and self-supporting into the less privileged women and girls in Mbaise
d. To alleviate poverty and improve the general well-being of Mbaise Women and Girls.
e. To encourage reforms to cultural practices that militate against women attaining their potentials, among other things.
f. To serve as advocate for Mbaise women and girls against abuse and exploitation

Membership is by organizational affiliation to MGF and activity participation is open to all women and girls, by birth or marriage in Mbaise living in Nigeria and in diaspora, who have the Mbaise Women and Girls development interest at heart, nominated or appointed by the MGF
BOD, and voluntarily indicate or accept to be members of the women council
The NGO may require the services of other community women and girls in other capacities as deemed necessary for the conduct of its activities, including having women community coordinators. Members' services are voluntary, and no payment is offered for member services.

OUR ACTIVITIES

​Constituted in 2021 and convened an Mbaise women stakeholders’ meeting in Mbaise the same year to create awareness and seek the engagement of every Mbaise woman in the MGF Women Development mission.

In 2022, completed the council’s first survey on the needs and limitations of rural Mbaise women
 
MBAISE GLOBAL WOMEN’S DAY
Mbaise Global Women’s Day – Annual event since 2022: a day set aside for the celebration and empowerment of Mbaise daughters and wives. The Women’s Day is filled with different activities such as fashion show/contest; Essay & Debate competition, Raffle Drawing with magnificent prices, empowerment packages, souvenirs, women dances, and more. Football matches amongst our girls in the three LGAs will be added to it in 2024.

The global womens day  has been celebrated
In MSS Aboh, Aboh on the 27th of August, 2022
In Itu, Ezinihitte on the 28th of October, 2023
2024 event will take place at St. Brigid’s Nnarambia, Ahiazu on 27th of December,
It will serve to raise funds for the establishment of Mbaise Women ResourceCenter and has an added football matches amongst our girls in the three LGAs.
